Our History

Allow us to give you a small historical outline oft he origins of CSA Hamburg and the wide spectrum of service that CSG and ist shipping line CSCL have to offer:
  • In July, 1998, the China Shipping (Group) Company from Shanghai – with the Peter W. Lampke GmbH, one of the last independent shipping agencies in Germany – signed a joint-venture contract over the agency of China Shipping Container Lines Shanghai: China Shipping Agency (Germany) with a representative agency in Hamburg.
  • With this agency, the traditional company Peter W. Lampke stood before the big task of publishing a young and previously unknown Chinese shipping company on the European container line market and to generate ist success. China Shipping Container Lines is the second largest shipping company in China. The mother company China Shipping Group was founded in July, 1997 in Shanghai.
  • Besides a logistics and trade company, container terminals and firms in the real-estate and insurance trade, CSG, under the name of „CHINA SHIPPING GROUP“, entertains five special fleets, containing over 450 ships – oil tanks, tramp ships, container ships, passenger ships and special cargo vessels.
  • In the container line service, CSCL controls 108 owned ships with a capacity of more than 120,000 TEU, making the company market-leading with its tonnage in the net between China, Australia, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. The Far East, North America, China, Africa, Europe and the Mediterranean Sea belong to the company’s worldwide transport network. Recently, China Shipping has included the USA’s east and west coasts in its RTW services.
